Volleyball Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Stone Ridge Christian entered their contest against Mariposa County on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mariposa County scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 24-26, 25-18, 25-18.

Peyton Shaw paced Stone Ridge Christian's offense, picking up 12 kills. Shaw got some help from Morgan Sorenson and her 24 assists. Sorenson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Mariposa County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from MIA HANSEN, who had 24 digs and two aces. That's the most digs HANSEN has posted since back in October of 2024. ABBY BEERY was another key player, getting seven digs and six aces.

Stone Ridge Christian's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Mariposa County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Stone Ridge Christian has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Le Grand on the 24th. As for Mariposa County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Chowchilla on the 23rd.
