Pueblo South was not able to secure the win in their season-opener on Friday. Neither they nor the Pueblo County Hornets could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Dezmond Melendez was handed one for Pueblo South, while Pueblo County got theirs courtesy of Tannin Jackson.

Benjamin Vega was the only thing that stood between Pueblo South and a shutout considering he scored both of Pueblo South's goals.
