Recap: Southeastern Mustangs vs. Pleasant Valley Raiders
The Southeastern Mustangs''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Pleasant Valley with points to spare, taking the game 27-13. That's another feather in the cap for Southeastern, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cole Williams was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Jackson Mcmillian, who threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
Southeastern's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.9 points per game. As for Pleasant Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeastern will take on Pennington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pennington is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. As for Pleasant Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gaston. Gaston has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th.
