Baseball Recap: Round Lake Panthers vs. Grayslake North Knights
Round Lake took a 18-run loss the last time they faced off against Grayslake North, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Knights on Tuesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 19-1 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
Daniel Russ made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
