Softball Recap: Antelope Has No Trouble Against San Pasqual Valley

Antelope won the last time they faced San Pasqual Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. Antelope put the hurt on San Pasqual Valley with a sharp 22-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Isela Marquez made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Karyme Arana was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Katie Williams was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Antelope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Antelope and bumps their season record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-4 San Pasqual Valley and 1-4 Salome. As for San Pasqual Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
