Softball Recap: Santa Rosa Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Logan on Tuesday, Santa Rosa came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the McCurdy Bobcats on Wednesday, falling 16-6. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 19-8.

Kaidyn Chavez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gianna Campos, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Santa Rosa's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for McCurdy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Rosa will host Raton at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for McCurdy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wingate at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
