Softball Recap: Seaman Drops Season-High Score on Leavenworth

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seaman). They put the hurt on the Leavenworth PIONEERS with a sharp 19-3 win on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the PIONEERS recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Kynnedi Kitzman spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Seaman got a massive performance out of Kayleigh Neil, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Neil has posted since back in May of 2024. Avery Phelps was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Seaman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive contests.

Seaman pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Leavenworth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seaman will head out to challenge Manhattan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leavenworth, they will venture away from home to square off against Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The PIONEERS are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
