Baseball Recap: Zapata Hawks vs. Palmview Lobos

Zapata's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to United South on Saturday. The Zapata Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Palmview Lobos.

Zapata saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diego Villarreal, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Villarreal has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Ryan Solis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Zapata's record now sits at 6-3. As for Palmview, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-4.

Coming up, Zapata will head out to square off against Roma at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Roma will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Zapata surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palmview, they will host Nixon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmview's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Nixon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
