Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Skyline Coyotes
Mesa has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Skyline Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mesa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Mesa posted their biggest victory since November 24, 2023 on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 54-25 win over Westwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Mesa has posted against Westwood since January 29, 2021.
It was another big night for Conway Cummard, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarren Galarza, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Skyline's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Red Mountain. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Red Mountain is ranked 127th).
Mesa has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Skyline, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-13.
Everything came up roses for Mesa against Skyline when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 99-37 win. With Mesa ahead 45-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
