Murrieta Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santiago Sharks, sneaking past 3-2. The Nighthawks haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Murrieta Valley took Santiago into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Beaumont at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santiago, they will square off against Ontario Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
