Baseball Recap: La Crosse Logan Takes a Loss

La Crosse Logan dropped their record down to 7-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Holmen Vikings, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Rangers were not able to get on the board.

As for Holmen, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

For Holmen's part, they got a great performance from Aaron Ploszay as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Ploszay has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jude Anderson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Meeter, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Crosse Logan will venture away from home to face off against Onalaska at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Holmen, they will square off against Menomonie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
