Soccer Recap: Metamora Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

The matchup between Metamora and Geneseo on Saturday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Redbirds never let the Maple Leafs get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. It was an even better day for Jacob Crotz as he scored three goals for his team.

Metamora is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those seven contests. As for Geneseo, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Metamora will head out to challenge East Peoria at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneseo, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Sterling at 6:00 p.m.
