Basketball Game Preview: Highland Park Scots vs. Turner Golden Bears

The Highland Park Scots will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Turner Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Turner took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland Park, who comes in off a win.

Highland Park is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Shawnee Mission West. Highland Park came out on top against Shawnee Mission West by a score of 42-29 two weeks ago.

Highland Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tahtionna Broils, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards, and Pearmella Carter, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Broils also racked up seven steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Aleiah Austin, who posted five points and five steals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-11, which was the final score in Turner's tilt against Seaman on Tuesday. The Golden Bears have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
