Basketball Recap: South Side Takes a Loss

South Side played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Union Area Scotties 66-35. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-23.

Lucas Stanley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Union Area, going 12 for 18 on his way to 36 points. That's the most points Stanley has posted since back in February of 2024. Zion Waters also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

South Side now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Union Area, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

South Side has already played their next contest (against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Union Area will be playing in front of their home fans against Neshannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neshannock will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Union Area surely won't give up without a fight.
