Softball Recap: California Military Institute Takes a Loss

California Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-9 to the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rough Riders of the 26-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bianca Martinez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yoselin Perry, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Even though they lost, California Military Institute always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

California Military Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
