Preview: North Harrison Cougars vs. Madison Cubs
The North Harrison Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Madison Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Harrison is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, North Harrison came up short against Evansville Memorial and fell 53-42. North Harrison has not had much luck with Evansville Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, North Harrison saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Brown scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Grace Goldman, who scored seven points along with four blocks.
Meanwhile, Madison scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Columbus East 64-49. The victory was just what Madison needed coming off of a 72-37 defeat in their prior game.
North Harrison bumped their record down to 5-15 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Madison, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.
North Harrison came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 49-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Harrison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
