Softball Recap: Trinity Episcopal Has No Trouble Against St. Margaret's

Trinity Episcopal won the last time they faced St. Margaret and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Titans blew past the Scotties 14-1. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Cooper Beatty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Trinity Episcopal let Claire Gibbs and Brooke Shelton run wild. Gibbs went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Shelton went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Those three RBI gave Gibbs a new career-high.

Trinity Episcopal's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for St. Margaret's, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Trinity Episcopal will challenge Miller School of Albemarle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Margaret's, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Collegiate at 4:30 p.m.
