Baseball Recap: Oregon-Davis Takes a Loss

Oregon-Davis extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 21 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost 12-0 to the Culver Community Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 14-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Culver Community, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Culver Community's part, Caleb McCuen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave McCuen a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonas McCuen, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Kyler Weiger was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Oregon-Davis will be playing at home against Marquette Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Culver Community, they will face off against West Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
