The Shadow Creek Sharks will challenge the Pearland Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Shadow Creek humbled Pasadena Memorial with a 52-14 victory. The Sharks pushed the score to 49-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mavericks had no chance of recovering from.

Shadow Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tavis Coleman led the charge by throwing for 279 yards and six TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt. Thanks to that big game, Coleman is now up to 23 passing touchdowns on the season. Shadow Creek also got a significant boost from Jacier Pace, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 98 yards.
Meanwhile, Pearland strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over Pasadena Memorial. Given the Oilers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Mavericks are ranked 593rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Creek better focus on containing Ja'Maurey Champion and Royce Swan as the pair were huge in Pearland's win. Champion rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Swan rushed for 81 yards and three scores on only ten carries.
Pearland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Pearland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Joseph Credit and C.J. Birkelbach. Credit is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Pasadena Memorial's side was Taylen Alviza, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Shadow Creek's record now sits at 5-2. As for Pearland, their record is now 8-0.
Shadow Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Pearland when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 41-28. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Oilers' Tate Chisolm, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of TDs, and also caught one touchdown.
