Baseball Recap: Ramona Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ramona had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won four games in a row.

Noah Bedia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Cal Melendez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Derek Taylor, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Ramona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Palo Verde Valley, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-6-1.

As of now, neither Ramona nor the Yellow Jackets have any future games scheduled.
