Softball Recap: Seneca Find Success

Seneca got themselves on the board against McDowell on Saturday, but McDowell never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since March 31st.

Sophia Primavere made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Seneca's record is now 12-4. As for McDowell, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Seneca and McDowell should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Bobcats will challenge Iroquois at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (190 vs. 538). Meanwhile, McDowell (ranked 102nd) will meet Erie (ranked 392nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
