Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Laterrion Irvin and Zion Grant Lead Pelahatchie to Victory

Pelahatchie entered their tilt with Bay Springs on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 52-43. For the Chiefs, this counts as revenge for the 46-44 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March.

Pelahatchie was led to victory by Zion Grant and Laterrion Irvin. Grant went 7-for-13 en route to 20 points and four steals, while Irvin shot 55% from the field to rack up 15 points and six rebounds. The contest was Grant's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Damarion Snow, who posted six points.

Pelahatchie was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pelahatchie's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Bay Springs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Pelahatchie will head out on the road to face off against Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bay Springs, they will welcome Stone at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
