Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Wallkill

Wallkill meant business on Sunday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Cats squad that has allowed just 28 points per contest. The Wallkill Panthers came out on top against the Catskill Cats by a score of 56-44. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Cats are ranked 103rd).

Wallkill's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Catskill, with the defeat, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wallkill beat Catskill by a score of 59-44 on Monday.
