Basketball Game Preview: Del Valle Conquistadores vs. Horizon Scorpions

The Del Valle Conquistadores are taking a road trip to take on the Horizon Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Del Valle took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Eastlake by a score of 52-40. The win was all the more spectacular given the Conquistadores' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Falcons are ranked 211th).

Horizon fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-20 win over Harmony School of Innovation.

Del Valle pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Horizon, their record now sits at 5-11.

Del Valle took their win against Horizon when the teams last played back in November by a conclusive 66-43. Will Del Valle repeat their success, or does Horizon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
