Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Notre Dame Academy can now relate to. They took a hard 44-30 fall against the Unity Christian Lions on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Notre Dame Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jazlynn Brown dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Brown's 16th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Amadi, who posted ten points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Notre Dame Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Notre Dame Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Unity Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Notre Dame Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Unity Christian, they will take on Alleluia Community at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
