Baseball Recap: Meek Takes a Loss

Meek came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Lynn Bears. The Tigers have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Benson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Conner Lane was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Meek's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lynn, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Meek will venture away from home to square off against Winston County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winston County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something Meek will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lynn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cold Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
