League recap: Silver Creek falls to upstart Skyline

Skyline scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Silver Creek, 29-28. At the time, the Raptors were ranked 15th in the state, while the Falcons were 115th.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Skyline, who took down 15th ranked Silver Creek, 29-28. Garret Angstead threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 85 yards in the win.

James Richardson was the most productive running back in 3A Tri-Valley this week. He ran for 121 yards on 24 carries as Mead lost to Northridge. Teammate Logan Anderson added to the ground attack by rushing for 31 yards.

Dylan Brown made the biggest impact on defense this week as Berthoud lost to Roosevelt. The senior grabbed one interception.

Cheung was the best wideout in the league this week as the Maverick fell to the Grizzlies. Cheung racked up 10 receptions for 151 yards. Anderson helped Mead's passing attack out by catching five balls for 60 yards.

Robert Fulton threw for 277 yards and five touchdowns. He was 18-23 with zero interceptions.

Northridge's Fulton and Michael Graff have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fulton has thrown for 2003 yards this season, while Graff, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 37 catches for 594 yards. Mead's Anderson leads the league in rushing yards with 624.

A big matchup in 3A Tri-Valley this week will be when Mike Apodaca's team takes on the Roughriders. At the moment, the Raptors are in first, while Roosevelt is in fourth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Silver Creek takes on Noland Eastin's team. The Raptors have allowed 87 points this season, while the Roughriders have given up 152. Silver Creek allowed 29 points last week as it lost to Kevin Rice's team.

Roosevelt moved up to 101 from 128 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Roughriders climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Spartans 40-7.
