Baseball Recap: George Washington Comes Up Short

George Washington fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Windsor on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wizards by a score of 7-6. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

George Washington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diego Varela, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

George Washington now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Windsor, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Looking ahead, George Washington will be playing at home against Rangeview at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Windsor, they will head out to square off against Greeley West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.71 runs per game on average), something the Wizards will no doubt try to take advantage of.
