Football Recap: New Hope Takes a Loss + How To Watch

New Hope extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-3. They were beaten by the Douglas Eagles 41-7. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Lucas Terry threw for 136 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Landon Tate-Matthews was his top target, picking up 106 receiving yards.

As for Douglas, they now have a winning record of 3-2. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season.

Douglas was led to victory by Keilan Green and Treiy Crenshaw. Green rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Crenshaw picked up 70 receiving yards and one score. Crenshaw was even better on defense, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making one tackle.

Coming up, New Hope will head out on the road to face off against St. John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Douglas, they will welcome Arab at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
