Volleyball Recap: Genoa-Kingston Comes Up Short

Genoa-Kingston entered their matchup against Byron on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cogs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Cogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Genoa-Kingston actually scored more points across those three sets (69-64), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 14-25, 25-23.

Genoa-Kingston's loss dropped their record down to 22-13. As for Byron, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 15-10.

Genoa-Kingston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Byron, they will square off against Wheaton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
