Basketball Recap: Timpview's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Maple Mountain came into Friday's game looking for another win against Timpview, but Lina Ballin wouldn't allow it. The Timpview Thunderbirds put the hurt on the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles with a sharp 66-43 victory on Friday thanks in part to Ballin, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah Bailey, who posted 17 points. Shay Brown was another key player, going 6 of 14 on her way to 14 points.

Timpview moved to 8-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Maple Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timpview will venture away from home to square off against Springville at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maple Mountain, they will head out to challenge Cedar Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
