Delphi Community waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Marquette Catholic Blazers by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-6 on Saturday.

Brett Huffman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. He has become a key player for Delphi Community: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Keygan Elliott was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Coghill, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Delphi Community pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Marquette Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delphi Community will face off against Clinton Prairie at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will take on Gary West Side at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
