Baseball Game Preview: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Joliet Central Steelmen

The Plainfield East Bengals will challenge the Joliet Central Steelmen at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Plainfield East and 13 for Joliet Central.

Plainfield East fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Neuqua Valley on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Joliet Central's offense. They came up short against Joliet West on Thursday, falling 14-0.

Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Plainfield East, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16-1.

Everything went Plainfield East's way against Joliet Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Plainfield East made off with an 18-0 win. Do the Bengals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Steelmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
