Soccer Game Preview: Garland vs. South Garland

Garland is on a four-game streak of home losses, South Garland a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Garland Owls will welcome the South Garland Titans at 4:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Garland's offense. They lost 5-0 to Sachse on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Mustangs are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, South Garland hadn't done well against Rowlett recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was South Garland who was credited with the victory. South Garland got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Rowlett's zero. Julieta Puello had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Titans.

South Garland's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Garland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Garland skirted past South Garland 1-0 when the teams last played back in January. Will Garland repeat their success, or does South Garland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
