Soccer Preview: Capital vs. Peninsula
Capital is 1-8-1 against Peninsula since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home pitch against the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, neither Capital nor Timberline could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The outcome might've been different if Jaden Annan hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.
He and Quinton Fisher scored both of Capital's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.
Meanwhile, Peninsula has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against Lakes.
With that draw, Capital's record moves to 3-2-3. Meanwhile, Peninsula's record is now 0-3-3.
Capital came out on top in a nail-biter against Peninsula in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seahawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
