Football Game Preview: Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders vs. Middletown Middie Bears + How To Watch

Monroe-Woodbury is 8-2 against Middletown since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Crusaders will take on the Middie Bears at 12:00 p.m. Monroe-Woodbury knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Middletown likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Monroe-Woodbury was fully in charge, breezing past Valley Central 42-13. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

ETHAN MALDONADO had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, while also rushing for 78 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Monroe-Woodbury also got help from BRAYLON SHILLINGFORD, who showed off his sure hands for 121 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Middletown didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Newburgh Free Academy on Friday, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory.

Middletown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Aiden Barbosa.

Middletown's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Monroe-Woodbury, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Monroe-Woodbury against Middletown when the teams last played back in October, as the team secured a 49-13 win. In that contest, the Crusaders amassed a halftime lead of 32-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
