Softball Recap: Myrtle Comes Up Short

Myrtle has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.23 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell just short of the North Pontotoc Vikings by a score of 12-11. It was the first time this season that the Hawks let down their fans at home.

Myrtle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for North Pontotoc, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Myrtle will head out to challenge Pine Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Pontotoc has already played their next game (against Ingomar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
