Central Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the TMI-Episcopal Panthers 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Buttons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Obie Martinez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Central Catholic's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matt McClenan, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Central Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for TMI-Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Central Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
