Basketball Game Preview: LEE Volunteers vs. Brandeis Broncos

LEE is 1-8 against Brandeis since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The LEE Volunteers will host the Brandeis Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

LEE will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Clark, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. LEE came out on top against Clark by a score of 49-36 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Brandeis had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They skirted past the Jaguars 48-45. The win was all the more spectacular given the Broncos' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Jaguars are ranked 113th).

LEE better keep an eye on Mia Ramos. She was instrumental in Brandeis' win, going 7 for 12 on her way to 20 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ramos has scored at least a third of Brandeis' points. Vivian Byerly was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Brandeis pushed their record up to 14-16 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for LEE, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 20-10.

LEE came up short against Brandeis in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 52-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ramos, who went 13 of 24 en route to 32 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
