Basketball Recap: Hopewell's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chambers, Hopewell was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the West Mecklenburg Hawks by a score of 60-48. Considering the Titans' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Leading Hopewell to victory were MOLLY HOWE and JUNE WALLACE. HOWE went 10 for 16 en route to 21 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while WALLACE dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points HOWE has posted since back in November of 2024. KRISTYN TROUTMAN was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Hopewell's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-15. As for West Mecklenburg, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Hopewell will have a chance to go back-to-back against West Mecklenburg: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
