Football Recap: Omak Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Omak won the last time they faced Cascade and things went their way on Friday too. The Pioneers never let the Kodiaks get on the board and left with a 42-0 win. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Kodiaks are ranked 248th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Omak's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Cascade, they moved to 4-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Omak will head out on the road to challenge Mt. Baker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cascade, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chelan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Kodiaks will be up against the Mountain Goats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
