Volleyball Recap: Genevieve Robertson and Sophia Lambrecht-Gardner Secure Win for Standley Lake

Standley Lake won the last time they faced Frederick and things went their way on Thursday too. The Gators came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

While Standley Lake might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Frederick scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23.

Leading Standley Lake to victory were Sophia Lambrecht-Gardner and Genevieve Robertson. Lambrecht-Gardner had 13 assists and eight digs, while Robertson had 15 digs and six kills. Robertson has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last nine times she's played.

Standley Lake now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Frederick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

After both having extra time off, Standley Lake and Skyline will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Frederick, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Dakota Ridge on the 29th.
