Basketball Recap: Everglades Prep Academy Takes a Loss

If Everglades Prep Academy was feeling good fresh off their 72-40 takedown of Academy for Innovative Education last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Everglades Prep Academy Panther were dealt a 68-29 defeat at the hands of the Goleman Gators on Friday.

Franki Sosa continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Goleman, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. Sosa is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Marcelo Bautista, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Everglades Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Goleman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everglades Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Keys Gate at 7:30 p.m. on January 15, 2025. As for Goleman, they will venture away from home to face off against Nova at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Goleman is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
