Baseball Recap: Pickens Comes Up Short

Pickens made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Seneca, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Flame fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Blue Flame have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Pickens saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henery Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Seneca, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Pickens will venture away from home to challenge Wren at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Blue Flame's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Seneca, they will challenge Greer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
