Basketball Recap: Kaleigh Meadows Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Franklin Community

With a playoff win on the line, East Central rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 51-38 victory over the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 78-65 win the Grizzly Cubs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.

East Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleigh Meadows, who went 6 for 7 to rack up 16 points and five boards. Meadows is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Stenger, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

The win got East Central back to even at 11-11. As for Franklin Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

East Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-50 victory against Columbus North on the 8th. Franklin Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
