Baseball Recap: Pillager's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pillager entered their tilt with Menahga on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Braves. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 9-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brooks Birchaek was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those doubles were his first of the season. Derek Hoglin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Pillager was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Pillager now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Menahga, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pillager is set to take on their familiar foe Parkers Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Menahga will face off against rival Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
