Saunders Trades & Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 13-10 victory over Gorton on Monday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Melvin Santana was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Santana was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jahdeis Burgos was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Renny Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Saunders Trades & Tech hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gorton struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Blind Brook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Valhalla, falling 9-3.
Blind Brook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Ebenstein, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Saunders Trades & Tech's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Blind Brook, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
Saunders Trades & Tech suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Blind Brook in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
