Baseball Recap: Rootstown Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Rootstown didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Springfield Spartans on Thursday. The Rovers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

The victory was the third in a row for Rootstown, bringing their record up to 6-1. As for Springfield, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Rootstown will square off against Central Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rovers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Springfield, they will challenge Woodridge at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
