Soccer Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

If Liberty was riding high fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Fresno Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Liberty Hawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chowchilla Tribe on Tuesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tribe apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Liberty's goal came courtesy of Ivan Amezcua, which was the first he's scored this season.

Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11-3 record this season. As for Chowchilla, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6-3.

Liberty has already played their next game (against Minarets), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chowchilla will head out on the road to face off against Fresno Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chowchilla is facing Fresno Christian at the right time seeing as Fresno Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
