Basketball Recap: West Columbus Comes Up Short

West Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a blow against the East Bladen Eagles, falling 57-28. The Vikings were down 39-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, West Columbus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Garry Brown posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in shooting accuracy (57%). Another player making a difference was Zion Eady, who scored three points and six rebounds.

West Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for East Bladen, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Pender the next time they take the court. East Bladen will head out to face Pender at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while West Columbus will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
